Chemalux Division of Chemat Technology Inc. strives to offer the best coating technologies to the ophthalmic industry at affordable investment.
The Chemalux Spin-On Coating Systems are designed to enable optical retailers and wholesale labs to enter the high profit, high growth market for ophthalmic antireflection coatings. The systems apply the AR coating one surface at a time, lens by lens. The PLC control systems integrate automatic high pressure water wash with precise multi-layer spin-on coating. The simple and reliable electromechanical structures make system easy maintenance and repair. The Chemalux has the wide range of the coating systems to choose to fit your current AR coating needs to future growth.
Chemalux AR coatings are fabricated using chemically reactive solutions (similar to the hard coating solutions) to spin coat onto the ophthalmic lenses. Strong chemical bonds form between AR layers with hard coated lenses. In addition, the resultant AR coating is non-ceramic in nature, leading to the AR flexible. The solutions contain superhydrophobic chemicals, making the whole AR coating superhydrophobic (in-matrix).
Long Lasting Easy Clean Property
Whole Chemalux AR stack is 100% superhydrophobic; but only less than 1% of AR stack from the branded AR is superhydrophobic. Thus, Chemalux AR will continue to repel water, dirt, dust, fingerprint and smudges year after year (> 10 time longer) while the branded AR loss the functions because of 1% of superhydrophobic materials have been wear off.
Chemalux AR uses nanocomposite materials to replace the brittle ceramic layers found in all other antireflective coatings. The result is the most flexible AR coating available, so Chemalux AR never cracks, and crazes. All other AR coatings crack when they are flexed such as bending.
This makes Chemalux AR coated lenses ideal for edging, drilling, and mounting.
No Delamination Due To Chemical Bonding
The active chemicals in Chemalux coating solutions react with hard coatings on the lens surface to form strong chemical bonds, creating a superior adhesion that prevents delamination. The chemical bonds get stronger with time, ensuring a longer-lasting AR coat.
